Banana Land

yesterday my friend dugh and i went up to tahoe for a day-trip and on the way there we stopped at ikeda’s for lunch which has awesome pie’s and awesome burgers. then we arrived at boreal a little past 1pm and we snowboarded for 6 hrs! with a little break at 4pm. and we lucked out on weather, no rain, not too cold, and it was sunny.

we were snowboarding until 7pm and snowboarding at night was a first for me and it was great! it was kinda scary in the beginning because you can’t see the terrain all that well, but it was kinda good at the same time because you don’t see the little bumps that make you worry about wiping-out during day time and it made my body to compensate for the bumps while i make my turns or just going down the slope fast.

so, here’s the result of the off-site presentation at

st. regis hotel. i left at around 7:30am and arrived at the hotel at
around 8:05am. everything was going fine with the setting up of all the equipments for the presentation, until… it all started when the ceo of the company came in and asked me if he can make some changes in his presentation.

i said yes, ofcourse, thinking that it will be easy. but then the tech station laptop (which was the master laptop that i was working on from day 1) decided to not cooperate and gave be the beach ball of death. at that point, i was saying to my self, you have got to be kidding me. so, i grabbed my third backup laptop (good thing i had a spare identical laptop) and suggested that he can make that changes on that one while i prepare the podium laptop. then the podium laptop was taking forever to load, so i asked my friend redge to keep an eye on it while it loads and inform me when its done.

in the end my ceo was able to make all the changes on his powerpoint slides on both laptops (tech station laptop and the podium laptop) and everything went pretty smooth with some minor glitches that no one noticed (i hope).

its 4am jan. 18, 2008 and still working.

i am currently working on the company’s (the company i work for) off-site presentation that will be held at st. regis hotel in san francisco, a whole day event. i thought that i will be able to get some sleep before the event, but it became an all night event for me fixing, adjusting, re-rendering video files for all of the powerpoint presentation and putting it all together into one MASSIVE file.

i am about done with putting it all together now and making sure that it will run as smooth as possible at the show (crossing fingers).

update: 4:18 am

i’m now done making a backup of the presentation file. it is now copying to another laptop that will be at the podium.

update: 4:30 am

copying to laptop 2 is done. now making last copy to laptop 3 (backup laptop (spare)) just in case anything happens to any of the show laptops.

update: 5:30 am

copy of master file to laptop 3 done! after running into some issues with laptop 3, whew! no time for a nap. i might over sleep and be late for the show or worse, not make it.
jumping in the shower soon then pack all the equipments that will be needed for the show.

update: 6:45 am

shower. arrgghh! eyes are burning!

i took this picture last december 2007 when my friends and i went to hawaii to support our 2 other friends who ran in the honolulu marathon and of course for vacation.
